Bridge over Troubled Waters

Since the Winter rains began, many of the
creeks and rivers in the state have
become swollen and made many residents have a difficult time
getting
to their homes The above picture is of Beaver Creek, which as
definitely
caused some residents of Lacy
Lane in
Camp Verde to have some problems
getting home! How would you like to have to use this swinging
bridge? I'm
sure
this way of getting to your home can be unnerving for some residents,
and
others just take it in stride. Personally, I think I'd be happier
if I lived
elsewhere, which I do!!

This is Lacy Lane where it crosses Beaver Creek.
When I took this picture,
the water wasn't as high as it finally got, but it was still formidable enough for
any motor vehicles to become stalled out or swept into the deeper parts
of the creek. Believe it or not, some drivers tried crossing anyway and
had
to get towed out.... And ticketed for a "dumb drivers law" we have here.

On the other side of Camp Verde, Highway 260 crosses over the Verde
River. It too was overflowing it's banks. Fortunately, all
bridges over the
river are high enough to not effect traffic. Flooding has damaged
some
homes in the area, but nothing like the devastation that has happened in
other countries recently in the news!
