Hiking down into Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Area

Trails are now opening, so it's time to go visit the wilderness again!  One place we like is the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness area on the western edge of the Coconino National Forest.  We usually go through Cottonwood, AZ to get there, and the drive along the way is just as spectacular as the hiking trials.  This day we took along daughter Michelle for the trek.

Although local folks know and appreciate this wilderness area, most tourists never see this part of the national forest as they mostly stay around Sedona or places farther north by Flagstaff.  We copied some 4x6 prints on our flatbed scanner, so the quality of the images you'll be seeing below are not as good as the originals, nor as nice as what we get with the digital camera.  We'll be going back down into the canyon again, so we'll get some better stuff in the future.
